Vin Santo 2003

€50.00

Legend has it that Vin Santo gets its name from a Dominican friar who offered this wine to the sick during the Black Death, leading to the belief that it was miraculous and therefore "santo" (holy) wine. Crafting this nectar demands time, patience, and artisanal expertise. Made from a blend of indigenous Tuscan white grape varieties, meticulously selected and left to dry, Vin Santo requires a minimum of 3 years of aging.

It presents an explosion of dates, candied fruits, and honey, layered with woody undertones and balanced hints of citrus and spices. On the palate, it is velvety, full-bodied, and embracing, with a harmonious and endlessly sweet finish.

Enjoy it as tradition dictates, with cantuccini after a meal, or pair it with blue cheeses for an unforgettable gustatory experience.

Technical Sheet:

  • Appellation: Vin Santo DOC

  • Grape: Malvasia bianca 50%, Trebbiano Toscano 30%, San Colombano 30%

  • Aging: minum 3 years in small oak barrels

  • Alcohol: 15,5%

  • Best time to enjoyed: after 10/15 years
