Harvesting the Soul of the Tuscan Land
Autumn at Borgo Vescine is a season of harvests, when the rhythms of the countryside set the pace of each day. Grapes, olives, and saffron bloom and ripen under the Tuscan sun, filling the Borgo with scents, colours, and traditions that have been passed down for centuries. To live these months here means to take part in an ancient cycle, where every harvest becomes a celebration of the land and of its authentic beauty.
Experience one of our Harvests
All harvests are valid for stays after the 5th of October - these experiences are avaible just during certain stays (depending on harvest periods) and some might refer to a package
Grape Harvest during your Stay
The grape harvest is the beating heart of autumn at Borgo Vèscine. Guests are invited into the vineyards to gather the clusters by hand, sharing in the joy and effort of a tradition as old as Tuscany itself. The experience concludes with a farmer’s lunch among the vines, where simple dishes and a glass of Chianti Classico celebrate the fruit of the land. Harvest time here is not only work, it is a festival of life, flavours, and community.

Saffron Harvest during your Stay
In the cool mornings of autumn, saffron flowers bloom in our fields, delicate and violet against the green of the Chianti hills. Guests are invited to witness the ancient ritual of harvesting their precious threads at dawn, collected one by one with patience and care. It is a fleeting yet magical moment, where fragrance, colour, and tradition meet in a treasure that enriches our cuisine. After the harvest, you can pick your own saffron and enjoy a wonderful risotto for lunch or dinner, paired with a bottle of our own wine and the attentive service of our team.

Olive Harvest during your Stay
The olive harvest begins at first light, when the hills are still quiet and the trees glisten with dew. Guests are welcomed with a rustic breakfast before joining our farmers among the groves, picking the fruit by hand in the age-old Tuscan way. The journey continues to the mill, where the olives are pressed into bright green extra virgin oil, ready to be savoured on warm bread. It is autumn in its purest form.
