At the Museo degli Argenti in Palazzo Pitti was held the ceremony of the Best of Wine Tourism Award instituted by Great Wine Capitals, the international network which gets together the capitals wine world.
In addition to Florence (Italy), the capitals are Bordeaux (France), Porto (Portugal), Bilbao-La Rioja (Spain), Mainz (Germany), Cape Town (South Africa), San Francisco-Napa Valley (United States), Mendoza (Argentina), Christchurch (New Zealand).
The prestigious international award appreciates the facilities regarding the wine which have distinguished themselves during the year, parted in category of excellence.
This year, during the Annual General Meeting which was held in Florence on the occasion of ‘’Vespucciani’’ anniversaries, of the Biennial of Culture and Florens 2012 exhibition and of Biennial of Food and Wine, the International Jury of the Best of Wine Tourism, formed by tourism specialists of all the cities of the network, chose the winners from more than 400 nominations from the nine capitals.
In the presence of the largest local authorities, representatives of the nine capitals, professionals of the wine tourism around the world, were then called to receive the award, the representatives of the companies.
