The wines are produced in our vineyards in Castelvecchi, located in the hills at a height between 500 and 600 metres above sea level. The soil is mainly made of marl, clays and limestone.
The fermentation in contact with the skins goes on for about 30 days. After a first ageing in steel tanks, part of the wine ages in 25 hl oak barrels and a part in the barriques for the following 10 months. A bottle ageing of at least 6 months follows.
Colour: intense ruby red.
Nose: full and velvety, with violet, raspberry and light spicy notes.
Taste: well-structured, well-balanced, full and lingering.
Great with braised red meats, stewed meat and game.
